Ice cream VS. a persons life: A self-centered person choices the Ice cream.

In my life, I have met a lot of people who act as though the world revolves around them. People who for the most part only think of themselves. Usually these people are rude, very prideful, arrogant, they have to control conversations, and if you’re telling the story. They have have a similar story in their life, that is usually either more sad then yours or just better in some way that the story in your life.

But never have I come across somebody like it did just a few days ago. This person lack any empathy for anybody else, and was more worried about her time and her ice cream then she was about another person.

See a few days ago, an old woman required medical assistance. I was the second person to arrive to aid in this woman’s medical needs. I did not know at the time what was going on. However I could tell she was very ill and didn’t need assistance. The first responder on the scene had already called for medical assistance, and was in care of the situation.

It didn’t take long for a fire truck to arrive which parked in the parking lot of the store in which she was located. The firemen quickly found their way to the old lady and I decided to leave the location and allow them to do their work. As I did this I was approached by another lady.

Now this lady asked me to have the firemen their truck as they were blocking her in a space that she could not get out of without hitting something. So my first thought was that she was unaware that there was a medical emergency going on. So I informed her that the firemen were currently responding to a medical emergency, but I’m sure that they would move the truck as soon as the emergency had passed.

But boy was I surprised when she said that she doesn’t care. And continue to inform me that they should’ve known better than the park where they did, blocking her car in. I was a little shocked. I wasn’t expecting that. So I thought maybe she didn’t hear me. And I restated that they were responding to a medical emergency.

However, she again informing how much she did not care, and informed me that she had ice cream in the trunk of her car that will melt if she doesn’t get it home on time. But this time she demanded that I go over to the firemen and order them to move their truck.

At this point I am very displeased with this women. If anything, you could say I was a bit angry at her reaction to this medical emergency, versus her ice cream. But I was not about to go and tell the fire personnel to move the truck because somebody’s ice cream was going to melt.

So I told her just that. I informed her there is no way I’m going to go and tell the firemen to move the truck because her ice cream is so much more important than the life of another human being. And without hesitation she quickly inform me of her disapproval of the whole situation. And then she informed me that she doesn’t think the store in which she purchase the ice cream will reimburse her for the ice cream if it melts. Of course I informed her I highly doubt, due to the situation, that the store would refuse to reimburse her. And I also informed her if they do not I would be more than happy to buy her a new tub of ice cream. If that was the case.

She continued on trying to get me try and have the fire truck moved so she can get out of her parking spot. Eventually I grew very tired of this conversation and I was getting very close to just slapping my handcuffs on her. However, I had a feeling that would just add more problems. So I decided to tell her that I will walk over there and see if one of them is free to move the fire truck. And so I did walk over there. One of them just so happen to be free and agreed in just a moment he would move the truck.

When I returned to the location. The woman was gone. Not only that, her car was gone. Well, most of her car. As she had left some of the paint on her rear bumper on the fire truck.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. She didn’t even have the patience to wait for me to go over and ask if somebody was free to move the fire truck. So she decided to back into the truck in an attempt to git her car free from the spot.

I cannot believe the lack of empathy this woman had for a fellow human being. It was absolutely disgusting. To her, her cheep bucket of ice cream (that’s right it was not even Ben & Jerry’s ice cream) was far more important than a woman who could be dying.

Anyways, I was left shaking my head. Because I couldn’t believe that happen.
